I created Ananda in 2018 whilst working full time in higher and further education, as a course manager and lecturer. My background in personal training, group exercise, health and wellbeing management and lecturing performing arts, personal training and sports science taught me a lot about people and adherence to their own wellbeing.

My mixed Indian British heritage and culture has always been an important to me, however it wasn't until my early 40s that I really began to explore the practices and spiritual scriptures of India. Once I began I couldn't stop; in 2017 during a visit to family in India I was invited to attend the Art of Living Happiness Programme where I learn't the Sudarshan Kriya a powerful cleansing breath practice. During the same visit I found the Isckon Hare Krishna temple and this was where my yoga journey began. The following year I took a massive leap of faith! I quit my Job and trained as a yoga teacher. The universe works in amazing ways; before I had even completed my training I somehow managed to be offered the opportunity to run my own bespoke yoga studio.

During the covid pandemic, alongside teaching a full online class timetable of yoga, meditations and yoga nidras. I was fortunate to be the lead health and wellbeing provider to both staff and students to one of the leading education providers in the area. This developed into me offering workplace workshops, seminars and key note presentations for a variety of businesses and organisations. I continue to provide guest lectures on wellbeing, provide classes for corporate events and lead a weekly class and regular workshops in my local community. I am always thrilled to be involved in wider community events and look forward to venturing into the retreat arena in 2026.

I have a passion for writing and over the years have had small articles published in both local and national magazines. I continue writing my series of short pieces about India and my experiences of the world as a mixed race female. I hope to publish these one day.

I'm often asked if I have a daily yoga practice and the answer is yes, but not in the way that people presume. I don't step onto my yoga mat every day, but I do live a yogic focussed lifestyle which includes the four paths of yoga, and the five core principles - and if you want to know more about these it's time to join the Ananda Health and Wellbeing community.
